That's right! Drives formated by DOS and Windows, including the new high-efficiency version of Win 98 and Win 95 OEM service release 2, are known as FAT systems because they have File Allocation Tables. These tables tell the operating system which clusters of sectors on the drive are allocated to which files. The entries in the table for hard drives are, 16 bits (DOS through version 6 and Windows 3.1/95), or 32 bits (newer Win 95 and Win 98). Many data recovery products cannot handle all these file system types, but Drive Master 2000 can handle them all! You see, the scandisk program that comes with DOS and Windows sometimes messes up your files by truncating them, or chopping off the ends of the files. If you own our tools and you have trouble repairing a drive, you can call our recovery support line. It is not a toll-free number, but the support itself is free. If you own Drive Master 2000 and have the remote client disk, we may be able to recover the drive in question for you over the telephone. There is a charge for this service of $100 (whether we recover the drive or not). If we recover the drive and the job is long and tedious, there will be an additional charge of $100. If we cannot recover any of the drive, then your maximum payment will be $100. In other words, it is $100 to look and do an easy fix, and another $100 for a hard-to-do fix.
